40-Series Highlights
Higher Resolution, Sharper Image
The
image quality demonstrated by PENTAX Video Endoscopes has
always been outstanding. Now, a new CCD (charge coupled
device) chip substantially enhances the image even further
by providing a 35% larger image (compared with the
conventional size) displayed on a new monitor with increased
resolution. These optical improvements result in a better
overall endoscopic image which is sharper, more detailed and
more appealing.
Enhanced Ergonomic
Design
In order for the endoscope
control section to be held more comfortably, a rotatable PVE
connector/plug has been designed. This new innovation also
lessens hand fatigue caused by umbilical cable strain.

Easy
Snap-On and Autoclavable Components
A variety of
components that snap-on rather than screw-off, allow for
easier installation and removal from the endoscope. These
components include the air/water and suction valves, and
channel cleaning adapters. For those institutions and
medical professionals requiring the confidence of
sterilization by autoclaving, the Pentax components
identified above, along with all check-valves, can
withstand the high temperatures of steam sterilization.
