Digital Video Recording System, Model 9300
Kay’s new Digital Video Recording System (DVRS) sets a new
benchmark for image quality and convenience for recording endoscopic,
fluoroscopic, endosonographic, and other procedures. Patient exams are
recorded directly to computer storage media. Image quality is
breathtaking and is superior to previous generation recording technology
based on VHS or SVHS videotape recorders. Digitizing the video
examination also brings many convenient benefits. For example, any
examination can be located and viewed in seconds because there is no
need to rewind or fast forward to the start of an examination. Comparing
exams is also easy and direct because two exams can be loaded and played
side by side.

A Powerful Image-Capturing System
The system includes all of the capabilities needed to capture both
full motion video and high-resolution still images. Audio (patient audio
or examiner comments) and video are captured together. The image quality
is broadcast level with progressive scan display (no flicker). Video is captured at a true
60 fields per second (or 50 fields per second for PAL).
Professional-Quality Video
Medical records require high-quality video images without artifacts.
Kay’s DVRS includes a professional-level, video-capture, MJPEG
compression board (with audio). It produces very accurate and
artifact-free, broadcast-quality video images. This board is currently
used for video capture and editing by the major broadcast networks.
Instantaneous Examination Review
Exam playback with the Kay system is immediate. The benefit in saved
time is actually minutes per exam when compared to VCR-recorded exams.
The user can quickly move to the beginning, or to any frame, of the exam
and play the recording.
Playback of Two Examinations Side by Side
Two patient exams can be loaded concurrently and compared side by
side. This powerful feature facilitates accurate assessment and in-depth
comparison of patient performance over time (e.g., before and after drug
therapy).
Features
-
Superior image quality as compared to analog videotape recording
-
Immediate recall and playback of recorded examinations
-
Quick and easy comparison of examinations (e.g., pre- and
post-surgery)
-
Numerous features to help in viewing examinations
-
Report containing important patient/exam data and images
Sophisticated Patient Database
Kay’s system maintains a sophisticated, searchable database of
patient/exam information. This information is easily updated before or
after a procedure. The clinician is provided with database fields for
documenting each examination. The system provides users with a simple,
convenient method to customize database fields suited to the needs of
their facility. The software also allows the examiner to include a
picture of the patient as part of the data stored with an exam.
Patient Reports
All patient and exam information is stored in industry standard
formats with templates for automatic generation of reports (using
Microsoft Word supplied with the system). These reports include critical
exam assessment information, database fields, still images, and even
video clips which can be sent electronically (e.g., by e-mail) to a
referring physician or to a colleague for consultation.
Connect DVRS to Existing Systems
DVRS can be connected very easily to your existing endoscopy systems
or even your microscopes to allow recording of surgical procedures.
